We are very sorry for the lack of updates on the blog currently but we are experiencing problems with our internet connection and the computer. Luckily today I can write on the blog but it still wont let me upload any pictures, so pictures will follow ASAP!
We currently have another burns patient - this time a beautiful black stallion. Sadly he was the only one out of the whole stable yard that could get away - as he knew how to jump out. He has severe burns all over his body. Currently he is comfortable but the next 5-7days will be critical for him.
There is also another influenza outbreak here in Luxor. Luckily we are not seeing half as many as we did last year but on average we are seeing about 20 cases a day.
As i said, pictures will follow ASAP so thats all for now!

yes i hope so to poor thing .did the rest get out .
I just don't understand the frequency of stable fires there in Luxor. Are they burning stuff nearby, smoking or??? That poor stalling. Lucky for him ACE is there to help him heal - and help relieve the pain.
I had the same feeling as kathy. I really wondered the frequency fo stable fire. What causes stable fires in Luxor?
I hope the stalion is OK. Poor animal.
A lot, if not most, stable roofs are straw here - so sometimes heat from the sun can start a fire or a careless owner with a cigrrette. A lot of horses are also tied up in their stables which means that they cant usually get away very easily in the case of fire.
We do not know how many other horses died in the stable fire with the black stallion.
