Denzel was born last night at ACE - his mum has been in with us for a week now with a wound over her shoulder and an infected shoulder joint. We knew she was ready to drop soon but we were still pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful white baby donkey foal in her stable this morning!! He initially had difficulty standing up on his legs due to weak tendons so we have put on a support bandage on his worse leg, to stop it knuckling over every time he stands. This has worked well and he's now pottering around like a pro!

Mabrook, oh he is gorgeous :)
The foal is beautiful and most fortunate to have been born at A.C.E. Why would he have weak tendons? Is that common? The mare looks like she has to work plenty hard based on the marks on her knees and around her chest and shoulders. She's lucky to be at A.C.E and get good treatment & food and a break from the hard work.
Wow! Definately lucky to be born at ACE. Hope his tendon will be OK.
Both will have a good care at ACE. It is nice to see lovely news like this...
