Lucky kitten!

This little kitten was lucky enough to be rescued by an Egyptian man who wanted a cat for his children. When the man had found the kitten, he had a ruptured eyeball which was very painful and had become severely infected. Concerned for the welfare of the kitten, he bought him straight to ACE to be examined by one of the ACE vets.
The kitten when he first arrived at ACE.
Sadly the eye was so severely damaged, that it was not possible to save it. The kitten was given pain killers and antibiotics, and then underwent an enucleation operation to remove the eye.

Becky Parkes, a volunteer vet from the UK performing surgery on the kitten.
After surgery, he was much more comfortable, as the infected eye was extremely painful,  and he was soon running around, climbing things, and demanding fuss and cuddles very noisily!

Little kitten post surgery up on the sofa!
He has now gone home with his new family, and is doing very well. He comes for regular routine health checks and he’s growing fast, and is being very well looked after.

What a happy ending for the kitten. He was fortunate that a kind Egyptian man found him and brought him for care right away. I do hope the family will continue to provide such good care for him for all the years of his life. Hopefully the children will embrace the joy of taking good care of a pet.

He was lucky indeed. Its nice to know that not everyone walks past a suffering animal and ignores its needs.

Hi, I am a highschool student in egypt and I am currently doing a project on stray cats' welfare in egypt. Would it be possible to get any statistics of 'stray(feral) cats'? Thank you. alice9501@gmail.com
